New to crypto? Start here
To buy here you need two things: a wallet app and a little SOL in it. Five steps, about ten minutes. World never holds either one.
Before you start, you'll need
- A phone or computer.
- A wallet app.
- A little SOL for the network fee.
- Your invite approved.
What a wallet is
A wallet is an app that keeps the keys to your coins. The coins sit on the chain; whoever holds the keys can move them, and the keys stay in the wallet on your phone or in your browser. World never holds them and never sees them. When you buy here, the site sends your wallet a request, the wallet shows it to you, and nothing moves until you approve it there.
Phantom or MetaMask
The connect sheet offers four wallets. Phantom is for coins on Solana, paid in SOL: the five steps below are for Phantom. MetaMask, Rabby and Coinbase Wallet are for coins on Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain, paid in ETH on that chain; they do not buy Solana coins here. Get MetaMask only from metamask.io; other places offering “MetaMask” can be fakes.
| Wallet | Buys coins on | You pay in |
|---|---|---|
| Phantom | Solana | SOL |
| MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet | Base, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain. These wallets do not buy Solana coins here. | ETH on that chain |
- Get Phantom. Phantom is a free wallet app for Solana. Get it only from phantom.com: on a phone it sends you to your phone's app store, on a computer it adds a browser extension. Other places offering “Phantom” can be fakes.
- Write down your recovery phrase. When Phantom makes your wallet it may show a recovery phrase of 12 words. Write them on paper and keep the paper where only you can find it. Anyone with those words can empty the wallet. Never type them into a website.
- Copy your Solana address. In Phantom, tap Receive, pick Solana and copy the address: a long string of letters and numbers. Sharing it lets people send you coins; it cannot take anything out.
- Add SOL. Tap Buy in Phantom to pay by card through one of its partners; the partner sets its own fee and shows it before you pay. Or, if you already have an exchange account, send SOL from it to the address you copied, and send a small amount first. Bring a bit more than you plan to spend: the smallest buy here is $25, and every trade also pays a small Solana network fee in SOL.
- Come back and connect. On a phone, open clown.world.lol in the browser inside the Phantom app, then tap Connect. On a computer, reload this page with the extension on, then tap Connect.
What Connect does and does not do
Connect shows this site your public address and lets it prepare a buy for you to approve. Connecting moves no coins and gives this site no spending power: it cannot spend on its own.
You approve each buy separately in Phantom’s own box. You can disconnect at any time. Connect asks for no recovery phrase, private key or password.
What this site will ask, and what it never will
It will ask, always in your wallet’s own box and only after a tap of yours:
- To connect. Your wallet asks whether to let this site see your wallet’s address and what it holds. Connecting moves nothing and costs nothing.
- To approve each buy or sale, after you have seen the bill. The bill says how many times your wallet will ask.
- Sometimes, to sign a short message that starts “clown.world: hold this buy”. Signing a message moves nothing and costs nothing: it stops the same buy from being sent twice.
- For a big order, to approve an allowance: it has a cap, you can take it back, and it ends after 24 hours.
It will never ask:
- For your recovery phrase, a private key or a password. Not on a page, not in a message, not from a support person.
- To hand your coins to us. We never hold them: every buy is signed by you, from your own wallet.
Nobody from World will message you first
- World will never message you first on Telegram, X or Discord.
- World never runs support in direct messages (DMs).
- World will never ask for your recovery phrase or a “wallet verification”.
- If someone messages you claiming to be World support or asks for these things, it is a scam. Do not reply or follow their links. Block and report the account.
If Phantom warns that this domain is new
Phantom shows that warning for sites it has not seen much of yet. It is about the web address, not about a coin, and it does not stop you.
Check that the bar says clown.world.lol, letter for letter. If it says anything else, close the page. If any page asks for your recovery phrase, close it, whatever the address.
What it does not mean: it is not Phantom saying this site is a scam, and it is not a problem with your wallet. It is not a pass either: a fake site can show no warning at all, which is why the address in the bar is the check.
If MetaMask or another wallet shows its own warning about this site, the check is the same: the address in the bar, letter for letter, and never your recovery phrase.
Nobody from World will DM you first to ask for these things.
Nobody from World, or whoever invited you, will ever message you first to ask you to:
- Connect a wallet.
- Send coins.
- Share your tester code.
- Type your recovery phrase.
If someone sends you an unsolicited message asking for any of these, it is a scam. Do not follow their links or reply with a code or phrase.
Before you approve
- Phantom opens its own box for each approval. The box is Phantom, not this site.
- Read what the box says leaves your wallet: the SOL, plus a small Solana network fee. That number is the one that counts. If it is not what you expect, tap Reject and nothing is sent.
- Nobody from World will ever ask for your recovery phrase. No page, no message, no support person. If anything asks, close it.
- Our only address is clown.world.lol. Check the bar before you approve.
What you are signing
- What you sign: this buy, as the bill shows it — the coin, how much, and what it takes from your wallet. If the box asks for anything else, reject it.
- What it costs: what the box shows leaving your wallet — the SOL or ETH for the coin, plus a small network fee that goes to the chain, not to World. If that is more than the bill’s total, reject it.
- What happens after: the chain records the swap, usually within seconds. The coin shows in your wallet and the receipt lands in your portfolio. If it does not land, the bill says so; check your wallet before you buy it again.
- How to say no: tap Reject in the box, or close it. Rejecting sends nothing for that request. It does not undo one you already approved: if your wallet asked more than once, an earlier buy or allowance you approved has gone, and its network fee is paid. The bill then says what went through; check it and your wallet’s activity.
Where your order goes
- When you approve a buy, World routes the swap through Jupiter on Solana and LI.FI for cross-chain swaps.
- You sign every order in your own wallet. World never holds your coins and never sees your keys.
- The swap settles on the chain. The coin lands in your wallet, and the receipt lands in your portfolio.
